A new video of Kanye West has gone viral online, showing the rapper calling pro-Palestinian supporters as "programmed" and comparing them to those who opposed US President Donald Trump .
Speaking in a heated tone, West says, “You n***s don’t know about Palestine, you don’t give a f***k about it. The media made you give a f***k about it, and it’s s**t you just put up on your motherf***n’ timeline.”
The clip has sparked fierce backlash on social media, with many calling out West for dismissing genuine activism and using offensive language. Supporters of Palestine and others accused the rapper of minimising the suffering in Gaza and reducing it to a social media trend.
This isn’t the first time Kanye has stirred controversy with his political takes. He previously faced criticism for supporting Donald Trump, wearing a MAGA hat, and saying slavery “sounded like a choice.” He also launched a failed 2020 presidential campaign and made a string of antisemitic comments in 2022 that led to the loss of multiple brand partnerships.
In 2018, the rapper made headlines for visiting the White House wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat and delivering a speech in support of Trump. He described Trump as a “brother” and claimed they both shared “dragon energy."
That same year, West stunned audiences during a TMZ appearance by saying, “When you hear about slavery for 400 years... That sounds like a choice.” The comment was widely condemned as deeply insensitive and historically inaccurate.
In 2020, Kanye launched a brief and chaotic presidential campaign under the “Birthday Party” banner. He held bizarre rallies, including one where he broke down crying while discussing abortion and his own family, leading many to question his mental health and motivations.
