Arkansas election results 2024: Donald Trump wins

Send Push
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump won the Arkansas presidential election on Tuesday, securing all six of the state's electoral votes. This marks his third consecutive victory in the heavily Republican state.

The Associated Press declared Trump the winner at 8:30 pm EST.

Trump received support from prominent Arkansas Republicans, including governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, his former White House press secretary. Former Arkansas governor Asa Hutchinson made an unsuccessful bid for the Republican nomination and chose not to endorse Trump's re-election campaign.

Democrats have not won a presidential election in the state since 1996, when Bill Clinton, a former Arkansas governor, secured his second term. The last two Democratic candidates to win the state were Southern governors: Jimmy Carter of Georgia in 1976, and Bill Clinton of Arkansas in both 1992 and 1996.

In the 2020 presidential election, Trump won Arkansas with 63% of the vote, while Joe Biden received 35%, echoing his 2016 victory in the state. In 2016, Trump also won Arkansas with 60% of the vote, while Hillary Clinton received 34%, according to NBC.
