NEW DELHI: An IndiGo pilot recently shared a touching moment from inside the cockpit, and it has won hearts online.
Captain Pradeep Krishnan posted a video on Instagram capturing the proud moment his colleague, Captain Aravind , flew his very first scheduled flight, with his parents on board. The clip shows Krishnan making an annou, handing the mic over to Aravind, and inviting the young pilot’s parents to stand up as the entire cabin applauds.
The flight was from Bengaluru to Thiruvananthapuram. What made it even more meaningful was the presence of Aravind’s parents, who booked tickets just to be part of their son’s big day.
In the caption of his Instagram post, Captain Pradeep Krishnan reflected on the long journey it takes to sit in the pilot’s seat. “Becoming a pilot is not just about having a passion. It takes a lot of hard work and sacrifice, not only from the pilot in training but also from the family and loved ones who support them and help make their dream come true,” he wrote.
“It’s always special to see pilots fly with their loved ones and make them feel special. I was proud to be the captain on this flight. Capt. Aravind’s parents booked tickets on his very first flight to Trivandrum to support him and be a part of his big moment,” he added.
In the video, after receiving the mic, Aravind thanks his parents for their unwavering support, while passengers in the background can be heard applauding warmly.
Responding to the post, Captain Aravind said, “Thank you so much, Captain. You indeed made it really special for all of us.”
Social media users were quick to react to the clip, calling it “beautiful,” “inspiring,” and “emotional.”
