NEW DELHI: The Congress on Tuesday took a swipe at Union road transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari over his repeated promises to the people of Bihar, remarking that “it seems the highway man is always high.”
Mocking Gadkari’s claims, Congress leader Pawan Khera shared a video on X compiling the minister’s old and recent statements in poll-bound Bihar, where he pledged to build “world-class” roads and assured the public that “the roads will be at par with American roads.”
The video juxtaposed Gadkari’s promises from 2024 with his latest assurances during the ongoing election campaign in Bihar.
Joining the attack, the Kerala Congress also took a jibe at the Union minister, calling him “the new jumla king in town.”
Meanwhile, campaigning for the first phase of polling has concluded. Bihar will vote in the first phase on November 6 and the second on November 11, with counting of votes and announcement of results scheduled for November 14.
