New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara would have left the Mercedes-Benz Superdome early if he wasn't contractually obligated to stay for the entire " Thursday Night Football " game. The Saints struggled in their 33-10 loss to the Denver Broncos , and many fans had enough before the game concluded. Kamara, who has been with the Saints since 2017, said he never saw the stadium empty before the game was over. New Orleans is currently 2-5 after the Week 7 loss and has a long injury list with 18 players listed.

Alvin Kamara doesn't blame fans for leaving Superdome early in Saints loss
New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara expressed disappointment after dropping a fifth game in a row to the Denver Broncos, stating that the loss was "unacceptable" and that it was the most disappointing run in his career. "Our play is unacceptable and, two, the dome being empty or emptying out -- I think I saw some fans leaving in the second quarter -- that's unacceptable," Kamara said after the game. "I don't blame the fans, it's on us. They come to see us play and perform and when we don't perform, that's the results you get. But I've never experienced that and if I was a fan, I'd leave too because it's not good enough right now.”

Kamara acknowledged that fans leaving the team is a response to their performance and acknowledged his seven-year experience in New Orleans, stating he's never seen this from the Superdome. "We shoot ourselves in the foot. I don't think we're playing with a lot of detail. I don't think we're playing with a lot of energy... Monday night, Sunday night, Thursday night football you got to come out with energy... Team that comes out and just puts [their] mind in a place of where it's like, 'It's Thursday, we know it's a short week, we just gotta go play.' The team that can do that? I mean, that's the team that's gon' win. And I don't think we did it today.”

New Orleans lost 33-10 with four drives longer than six plays, and Kamara rushed for 10 yards. Kamara listed a home for sale before the season, sparking trade speculation. Despite being a sell-off candidate, he has maintained productive play and has been candid with the press about sub-par performances. He has remained engaged and active with the team, but skipped a minicamp due to a contract dispute over the summer.
