'Bridgerton' season 4 clip teases Benedict and Sophie's FIRST MEET ahead of 2026 release; seasons 5 and season 6 confirmed - WATCH

Dearest gentle reader, get ready to swoon because the Bridgertons are back. Fans of the hit Regency drama series are in for a fresh dose of romance, drama, comedy, and scandal with Season 4 set for a 2026 release.

In a surprise reveal on Thursday, the streamer dropped a tantalising first teaser for Bridgerton season 4, spotlighting the series’ next leading couple - Benedict Bridgerton played by Luke Thompson and Sophie Baek played by Yerin Ha. The clip teases the epic masquerade ball that fans have been waiting for with bated breaths. The makers also didn't hold back on revealing the lead couple's first meeting at the ball hosted by Violet Bridgerton. After a wait for three seasons, fans of Benedict will get to see their favourite 'lover boy' fall hard and fast for Sophie in what is being touted as one of the most beloved storylines.


“The fourth season of Bridgerton turns its focus to bohemian second son Benedict. Despite his elder and younger brothers both being happily married, Benedict is loath to settle down — until he meets a captivating Lady in Silver at his mother’s masquerade ball,” reads the synopsis. Season 4 will consist of eight episodes.





While fans were ecstatic with the surprise announcement, many did not hold back on their impatience over the long 2-year wait between each season. "Idk how I’m gonna wait until 2026," commented one, while another added, "two years for eight 45 minute episodes."

"With the way things are going, we will likely have bridgerton season 6 on 2030 which is a jarring thought considering season 1 came out in 2020, meaning it started filming on 2019(?)... like what do you mean it took 10 years to produce 6 seasons of a show with 8 eps per season???" said another.












Netflix confirmed that while the hit series will return for a fourth season in 2026, it also announced that Bridgerton has been renewed through to season six. A note from Lady Whistledown read, "Rarely is this author granted the opportunity to share with you such information. It is with great pleasure I can announce Bridgerton shall return for Season 5 and 6. So celebrate accordingly."






Based on Julia Quinn’s bestselling novels, Bridgerton Season 1 followed Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and Simon Basset (Regé-Jean Page), while Season 2 spotlighted Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley). Season 3, which aired in 2024, focused on the fan-favourite pairing of Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan).

Returning cast members in season 4 include Bailey, Ashley, Coughlan, Newton, Adjoa Andoh, Julie Andrews (voice of Lady Whistledown), Hannah Dodd, Ruth Gemmell, Claudia Jessie, Golda Rosheuvel, and many more.
