Ranchi: A two-day art festival, “Art-81,” aimed at promoting voter awareness for the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly Elections, was inaugurated on Friday. The event was inaugurated by chief electoral officer K Ravi Kumar.

The festival brings together 81 artists from various parts of India, including Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, and Nepal. Renowned artists from Jharkhand, as well as young talents and students, are also participating in the event. The festival serves as a platform for connecting voters, especially the youth, through art while delivering a strong message on the importance of voting. A special focus is being placed on increasing youth voter turnout, with the election day being scheduled for Wednesdays, as officials noticed that when elections are held on weekends, young voters tend to take three-day vacations instead of voting.

Encouraging the youth, Kumar added, “We urge young voters to exercise their democratic rights and avoid skipping the elections for extended weekends.”
