Mangaluru: Following the recent murder of Suhas Shetty, police identified one person for allegedly forwarding a provocative message in a WhatsApp group named Mangalore Muslim Yuva Sene. Based on the content shared, a case was initially registered at Moodbidri police station and later transferred to the Mangaluru City CEN Crime police station for further investigation.
During the probe, the person who forwarded the message was identified as Mohammad Anas, a resident of Vittla in Dakshina Kannada. He is currently being interrogated, and further investigation is underway.
Cybersecurity awareness
A youth from Karkala, Udupi, reportedly received a suspicious WhatsApp message saying "How are you?" from a Pakistani mobile number. Police urged the public not to respond to suspicious messages or links received from any international number. Do not share personal information, OTPs, or any sensitive data under any circumstances.
