Bhopal: An 18-year-old girl injured in an e-rickshaw accident during a family outing in Bilkhiria died while undergoing treatment late on Friday night.
Police said Sonali Ahirwar, a resident of Haripura village, had set out with 7–8 family members on April 12 to visit the Kankali temple, after which they planned to picnic nearby.
The group was travelling in an electric rickshaw driven by one of the family members when the vehicle overturned on the way, injuring several of them.
Bilkhiria SHO Umesh Singh Chauhan said all injured persons were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, where they were discharged after receiving first aid. No formal complaint was made at the time of the accident.
SHO Chauhan said Sonali, who sustained more serious injuries, was admitted to a private hospital. Despite medical efforts, she passed away late on Friday night.
Following information from the hospital, police reached the scene, registered a case, and sent the body for post-mortem.
