Bhubaneswar: Odisha govt will establish three integrated AYUSH hospitals in Dhenkanal, Berhampur and Balasore, announced chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi at the annual festival of Dr Abhin Chandra Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital here Wednesday.
During the event, he laid the foundation of a new emergency unit and announced establishment of a homoeopathic research and analysis department in the college. He also inaugurated a blood donation camp. "Over 56 years, the college has produced many renowned doctors," said Majhi.
He said the college operates a homoeopathic medicine manufacturing unit, supplying medicines to various hospitals, which is commendable. Currently, the state has four govt homoeopathic colleges and hospitals, including this one, along with 562 govt homoeopathic dispensaries.
Health minister Mukesh Mahaling emphasised the crucial role of homoeopathic medicine in the health sector and acknowledged the efforts of students at the college in popularising it. "The state and central govts have initiated strong efforts to improve the health infrastructure in Odisha, and he expressed confidence that they will exceed their target in this area," he added.
