Congress leaders in Srinagar have unanimously passed a resolution holding JKPCC President Tariq Karra responsible for the party's disappointing performance in Jammu and Kashmir, sources exclusively told Times Now.The resolution outlines several key factors contributing to the electoral defeat. Firstly, the appointment of the JKPCC president after the election notification is said to have disrupted the party's operations. Additionally, concerns were raised about Kara's unfamiliarity with Congress culture, which has hindered effective leadership.The leaders also alleged that the election tickets were distributed in collaboration with the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and other parties, arguing that this strategy placed the Congress in a vulnerable position. They highlighted a significant regional disconnect and a lack of understanding regarding the unique political landscape of Jammu and Kashmir.The resolution has been addressed to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, with copies sent to Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, demanding appropriate action in light of these concerns.J&K Congress President constitutes 7-member fact-finding committee to probe poll debacle in Jammu. The Jammu & Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Tariq Hameed Karra, in consultation with AICC Leadership, has constituted a fact-finding high-powered committee to ascertain the reasons behind the defeat of the Party in the recent Assembly elections, in Jammu regions and to suggest measures for strengthening the party.The Committee is expected to give a report within 30 days from today.Senior Party Leader Ravinder Sharma has been appointed as Chairman of the Committee while Jehangir Mir, Naresh Gupta, Thakur Balwan Singh, Shah Mohd Chowdhary, Ved Mahajan and Dina Nath Baghat are the members of the Committee.J&K Assembly Election ResultsThe J&K National Conference won 42 seats, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 29, the Indian National Congress (INC) won 6, the J&K Peoples Democratic Party (JKPDP) won 3, the J&K People Conference, Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) won 1 seat each, whereas 7 seats were won by Independent (IND) candidates.Congress Not Part Of Govt In J&K, To Support From OutsideThe Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Chief Tariq Hameed Karra on Wednesday said that Congress Party has strongly demanded from the Centre to restore Statehood to J&K, besides the Prime Minister has time and again in public meetings promised the same. But the Statehood has not been restored to J&K. We are unhappy therefore we are not joining the Ministry at the moment, JKPCC Chief added and said Congress Party shall continue to fight for restoration of Statehood.
