tend to be strict when it comes to dress code, from not allowing flip flops in restaurants to suits only on formal nights. To help you pack, a stylist has shared items you must pack when cruising.
, a resident stylist at , said: "Cruise dress codes are usually relaxed but chic. When packing for a cruise, it's important to be prepared for a variety of activities and weather conditions.
"Most of the daytime will be spent exploring ports, lounging by the pool, or enjoying the ship's amenities, meaning comfort and breathability are key."
The expert recommended choosing lightweight items which can easily be mixed and matched.
This will give you a wide range of outfit options without wasting valuable packing space, as well as not taking up too much room in your cabin.
A pair of cotton trousers and a cotton blouse is key as they can be worn together or separately with other items.
For example, you could also wear the trousers again with a simple vest top or match the blouse with a pair of shorts if the weather permits.
The expert said: "Trainers or flat sandals that support your feet while on excursions and sightseeing are a must.
"Most cruises include one or two formal nights, which are great opportunities to get dressed up. Check with your cruise line for themed evenings or special events so you can pack accordingly."
Make sure to pack comfortable footwear for the evening too, such as a pair of kitten heels or a block heel to provide style and comfort.

Lynne added: "It's also important to stick to a colour palette you love, as this will make it easier to create multiple looks with minimal effort.
"Think neutrals and whites, paired with pops of your favourite shades. Reds and corals work especially well, as they are well complemented by the colours of the sea. Ultimately, the perfect cruise wardrobe is built around a cohesive colour palette and versatile, lightweight, breathable fabrics.
"Choose pieces you can layer, mix, and dress up with accessories like metallic shoes, woven hats or bold jewellery."
With little planning, you'll have stylish, "effortless" outfits for every moment on the cruise and off the cruise.
The stylist also shared outfits you should avoid on a cruise, which included fabrics which are too warm, oversized handbags, as well as fabrics which crease easily.
