A British woman who to Peru for a yoga retreat in March has gone after enduring a violent robbery that left her traumatised and living on the streets. Hannah Almond, 32, a fashion graduate from Grimsby, vanished two days ago in Cusco, , the reported. She had been sleeping rough beneath the Belén Bridge after her passport, phone, and money were stolen in a brutal attack.
Deeply concerned for her safety, Hannah's friends have now launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for her family to travel to Peru in an effort to find her and bring her home. Her friends say she is too fearful and mentally fragile to navigate recovery on her own.
She was reportedly left traumatised and distrustful of authorities, declining offers of help from the British Consul.
Since the assault, Hannah had been relying on the kindness of strangers to occasionally contact her family.
All her remaining possessions were reportedly burned by local gangs, leaving her with nothing.
Her last known location was a makeshift homeless encampment under the Belén bridge, where she reportedly formed a bond with an elderly man she believed she could trust.

A family friend told the MailOnline: "She is one of the most pure loving souls ever - she is very generous and always wants to help people.
"But she does not trust anyone after getting robbed and assaulted. Some locals burned all her belongings from under the bridge.
"She was contacting her mum every now and then through other people's phones.
"Police went to check on her two days ago and she has not been seen since. Cusco is a trafficking hotspot, so it's very worrying."
Anyone with information on Hannah's whereabouts is urged to contact local authorities or the British Embassy in Lima.
The GoFundMe page reads: "We are urgently raising funds to help bring our dear friend, Hannah Almond, safely back to the UK from Peru.
"Hannah travelled to Peru in March hoping for an adventure, but instead, she has found herself in a terrifying and heartbreaking situation. She was robbed and sexually assaulted, losing her passport, phone, and all of her money. Since then, Hannah's mental health - something she has long struggled with - has severely declined.
"She is now in the midst of a mental health crisis, living under a bridge with a homeless man she befriended - the only person she currently trusts.
"Despite attempts to help her through official channels, Hannah is deeply fearful and unable to accept support from the embassy or local authorities. She is extremely vulnerable, isolated, and not safe living on the streets of Peru."
