Tropical Storm Erin has formed today just west of Cabo Verde. Forecast models indicate Erin could become a major hurricane this weekend, potentially affecting Bahamas and Bermuda, but consensus keeps it away from the USA.
Instead, according to the independent forecaster, Netweather Erin will recurve northeast over the North Atlantic and possibly heading towards the UK for the weekend.
Tropical Storm Erin is currently tracking west near Cabo Verde with a hurricane upgrade very possible this week as Storm Dexter is already due to hit the UK in the coming days.
Tropical Storm Erin is positioned just west of the Cabo Verde Islands and is expected to track generally westwards for much of the week. Forecasts indicate gradual strengthening, with Erin potentially reaching hurricane status later this week while remaining far from land in the central Atlantic.
