A rare glimpse into what , and are like at home has been shared by a former member of staff. Speaking to , ex-royal nanny Caroline Redgrave has opened up about how the young members of the Wales family wind down for the evening and what each of them prefers to do.

And, when it came to the routine the trio followed when Caroline worked there, she revealed there is a very healthy snack they enjoy before they go to sleep. She told the paper: "You get to know them in those quiet evening hours, that's when they're most relaxed. And it's also when you see -polite, playful, and full of personality."

Caroline then added that one hour before bedtime, the trio would all have a cup of warm milk - never cold - "and sometimes a slice of banana or half a plain rice cake."

Insights about what the Wales children like to eat are not new. While visiting Lavender Primary School in 2019, the Princess of Wales shared that her children love to help their mum out in the kitchen and enjoy getting their hands messy. She revealed that their speciality is cheesy pasta.

"One stirs the flour, one puts the milk and butter in," Matthew Kleiner-Mann, chief executive of the Ivy Learning Trust, said after a visit to the school in 2019. She was telling us how much her children love cooking and how they cook for her."

Kate also spoke about her children's breakfast preferences when she visited the London Early Years Foundation in Stockwell Gardens Nursery, London in 2023.

School manager Michelle Samuels explained: "[She] mentioned to three of the children that her own children enjoy apples and cereal in the morning, which sparked a conversation with the children about their own preference of fruits."

In terms of what Prince George enjoys eating the most, his father Prince William revealed while he was working with celebrity chef Aldo Zilli at the youth homelessness charity Centrepoint that his favourite dish is spaghetti carbonara.

The revelation led chef Aldo to previously tell : "I'm waiting for the call because apparently his little boy's favourite is spaghetti carbonara, so I'm waiting for the call to go and cook for him."

Kate has also previously revealed that her youngest son, Prince Louis, has a fondness for a certain vegetable. A few years ago, she spoke to TV chef Dame Mary Berry about her children's food preferences and said: "We've got carrots, beans, beetroot - a massive favourite - Louis absolutely loves beetroot."
