An omelette is such a versatile dish that you can enjoy the eggs for breakfast, lunch, or even dinner. Additionally, you can make a variety of styles, such as French or American, and add a ton of different ingredients to make them delicious and filling. The options that come with an omelette are endless. You can add ham, cheese, and spinach - the list goes on. Regardless of what you choose to add, you're bound to end up with a tasty dish.
Though, when it comes to making an omelette, the main thing you want to make sure of is that you end up with one that has beautiful fluffy texture. Fortunately a home cook on Reddit has revealed a certain trick that will help you do so.
The method was revealed after a user asked: "what's your secret to a great omelette?"
They said: "I use lots of butter, a little S&P [salt and pepper], cast iron omelette pan on low heat, and don't overcook. I also like a bit of chive. Any pther suggestions?"
One person quickly chimed in and made the unusual suggestion.
Discopathy wrote: "My secret is to shove the pan under the grill when the omelette is half done. Makes the whole thing puff up and look fabulous, no burning on the bottom."
El-Viking agreed with the tip, claiming that "this is the way".
They added: "My omelettes always end up somewhere between a classic French omelette and a country omelette. The important thing is that my girlfriend likes my omelettes."
Other users were quick to take note of the suggestions, agreeing that it "sounds good", and is worth trying.
However, there was one that seemed to be confused by the recommendation, and what the home cook meant by putting the pan under the grill.
What Discopathy is referring to is the built-in grill element that is found on most oven. They explained that you once you put it in there make sure to keep the handle out so you don't burn yourself.
