Firefighters are responding to a number of fires that have broken out across London after days of scorching hot temperatures.
At the largest fire in Dagenham, more than 100 members of the London Fire Brigade worked to put out a blaze covering 20 acres of grass and shrubland at Beam Valley Country Park. Local residents were ordered to evacuate their homes as a safety precaution while fire crews attempted to dampen the flames.
Shortly after the Dagenham fire broke out, emergency services were called to multiple other fires across the capital, with an ongoing wildfire response in Hornchurch and Walthamstow - where 60 firefighters and eight engines are currently tackling a blaze off Coppermill Lane.
These incidents come just days after a grass fire tore through shrubland in Rainham, where the fires spread to the borders of a large residential neighbourhood.
