Chesney Hawkes has sparked speculation with his cryptic eight-word response when quizzed about entering the Celebrity Big Brother house.
The pop sensation joined BBC Breakfast hosts Nina Warhurst and Charlie Stayt on Friday morning (April 4) to chat about his forthcoming tour dates.
Yet, the conversation swiftly veered towards the buzz surrounding Chesney's potential involvement in the upcoming season of Celebrity Big Brother, which is set to kick off next week.
When Charlie probed, "Rumour has it, Chesney, that you're going in Celebrity Big Brother. Is that true or not?" Chesney bluntly responded: "I have no idea what you're talking about."
Charlie pressed on, asking, "So, that's a yes?" to which Chesney retorted: "I don't know where you got that from," reports .
Nina didn't let up, enquiring about any pre-show rituals he might adopt if he were to join the reality series on Monday.
Chesney wittily replied, "Probably sleeping if I was to do that," and turned the tables by questioning Charlie about his own participation.
"I'm not doing it, I can categorically say I'm not," Charlie declared, with Nina echoing the sentiment for herself, before pointing out Chesney's evasion.
Intrigued, Charlie then sought to uncover Chesney's whereabouts next Tuesday, following the show's launch, leaving the singer momentarily speechless.
"Let me think about this, uh well," Chesney hesitated, before finally conceding, "Yeah, I'm just going to rest in... sitting on the couch at home."
Charlie commended the celebrity for his evasive answers, remarking: "You're holding the line very well if I may say."
"Your face hasn't changed, I bet you're very good at poker," Nina concluded.
The Sun has reported that the upcoming Celebrity Big Brother roster promises to be star-studded, featuring a Hollywood icon, a cherished soap opera star, and a Love Island favourite.
The speculated list of participants alongside Chesney includes Jack P Shepherd, Mickey Rourke, Trisha Goddard, Chris Hughes, Donna Preston, and JoJo Siwa.
Celebrity Big Brother returns to ITV1 and ITVX at 9pm on Monday, April 7
