Carlos Alcaraz won his opening match at the ATP Finals - and was then quizzed about his relationship status. The six-time Major winner's love life has been in the public eye in recent months. He was linked to Emma Raducanu after they signed up for the US Open mixed doubles event together, but they both clarified that they were just good friends.
American model Brooks Nader was then said to be dating Alcaraz while he was in Flushing Meadows, as Nader's sister claimed the Spaniard was the "man of the hour". Now, the 22-year-old has put any rumours to bed once and for all.
Alcaraz got off to a winning start in Turin on Sunday, beating Alex de Minaur 7-6(5) 6-2 in his first round-robin match. It's the first time in Alcaraz's young career that he's won his opening match in the group stage of the ATP Finals.
But attention turned to his off-court endeavours after the match. At the end of Alcaraz's press conference, the No. 1 seed was asked: "I have a question from a lot of girls around the world. Your heart has been taken?"
Alcaraz was initially confused, and he was again asked: "Your heart has been taken? Are you free?"
Laughing, the Spanish star confirmed his relationship status. "No, I'm free. I'm free. I'm free," he said.
Alcaraz isn't the only one who has been put on the spot about his personal life. Ahead of Wimbledon this summer, British No. 1 Raducanu was outright asked whether rumours that she was dating Alcaraz were true.
"We're just good friends," she replied. The press conference concluded, and Raducanu laughed and added: "Way to wrap up!"
Raducanu isn't the only woman that Alcaraz has been linked with. During the recent US Open, it was reported that the six-time Grand Slam champion had started dating Brooks Nader, a former contestant on Dancing with the Stars.
During New York Fashion Week, Brooks' sister Grace Ann told E! News: "The rumours are true. Dating is such a loose term. But I do know he's the man of the hour." Grace Ann had also previously hinted that Brooks was dating Alcaraz's biggest rival, current world No. 1 Jannik Sinner.
Brooks later appeared on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen to promote their new reality show, Live Thy Nader, and an audience member asked her: "During the 2025 US Open, did Carlos and Jannik know about each other?"
The model replied: "I would just say, a lady never kisses and tells - especially twice, that's just not nice!" Grace Ann was also in the audience and called out: "Especially not to her other boyfriend."
Cohen himself also asked Brooks whether she had really dated Alcaraz or Sinner, but she remained elusive.
"Dating is such a loose term these days. It's just... I don't know. By the way, my only thing is, guys do it all the time, so why can't I do it?" she said.
