The Carabao Cup fourth-round draw has been completed tonight, with holders Newcastle handed a very tough home test against fellow Premier League giants Tottenham. Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea are among the teams to have discovered their fates also, alongside a feisty derby to come.
Liverpool booked their place in the fourth round after a 2-1 victory over Southampton. They were made to sweat when Shea Charles equalised in the 76th minute, only for substitute Hugo Ekitike to bag an Anfield winner 10 minutes later, before taking his shirt off in celebration and promptly being shown a second yellow card.
At the same time, Chelsea needed to come from behind to beat Lincoln City 2-1. Rob Street gave the hosts the lead just before half-time, before a two-minute double salvo from Tyrique George and then Facundo Buonanotte rescued the tie for Enzo Maresca's outfit.
Brentford, Crystal Palace, Wolves and Fulham were the four top-flight teams to progress on Tuesday night, joined by three Welsh sides in Swansea, Wrexham and Cardiff.
The four final games tonight were Huddersfield vs Manchester City, Newcastle vs Bradford City, Tottenham vs Doncaster and Port Vale vs Arsenal, with the four Premier League sides all coasting to victory.
