TV enthusiasts who tuned into brand new crime drama, The Reunion have been left hooked as the crime thriller kicked off with a bang.
The new four-part drama, which stars Matthew Gurney, Anne-Marie Duff and Rose Alying-Ellis amongst others, centres on the perspective of protagonist, Daniel Brennan (Matthew Gurney), a deaf man who is both physically and emotionally cut off from the world around him.
After serving ten years for murder, he is released from prison but is still driven by his desire for revenge.
Caught between two worlds, Daniel struggles to fit into the hearing world, while also being rejected by the deaf community at the same time.
As fans witnessed the leading man navigate life after his release, viewers shared their thoughts on the show.
Heading over to social media site, X, one viewer wrote: "Enjoying this new series tonight and very interesting way of doing it."
Another shared: "Absolutely loving this!"
A third viewer said: "As a deaf person, this programme is great to watch and learn the BSL again. Definitely more twist and turns to come!"
A fourth spectator added: "Well I was hooked by #Reunion on @BBC1."
Meanwhile, another also shared: "#Reunion was compelling. I went in tonight without knowing anything about it, but I'm used to watching Walter Presents subtitles on channel 4. Rare for the BBC to put signing in a mainstream TV slot. Bravo!!!"

Before the show's release, writer, creator and executive producer, William Mager shared his thoughts on the compelling series.
He told the BBC: "Reunion started as an idea a long time ago. Initially, it was from a place of emotion, a place of anger, sadness. It felt like I had something to say.
"Originally, I wanted to write it as a short drama - that was ten years ago. But then three or four years ago, I started to look at that idea again and realised it would work better as a series, I just wrote it for myself.
"But what was interesting was that when I started to send out the script, everyone loved it. I was shocked by that because when you write something for yourself, you don't care what other people think about it but when people like it, it's great and kind of scary too."
Reunion is available to watch on BBC iPlayer
