Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department has issued an orange warning for three districts of Odisha till 2.55 pm on Thursday.
Moderate thundershowers accompanied by lightning and surface wind speed reaching 40 kmph is likely at a few places in Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Puri in the next 2 hours.
According to the weather agency, the active monsoon current may dump heavy rain in Odisha for four more days.
On August 21-22, yellow warning of heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorm/lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph has been issued for one or two places in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Balasore and Bargarh. On August 23-24, heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorm/lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph may continue in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda and Sambalpur districts.
Squally weather with wind speed of 30-40 kmph gusting to 50 kmph may also prevail along and off North Odisha coasts on August 23, and 24.
