Bollywood's legendary star Shah Rukh Khan has recently strengthened his position through superhit films like 'Jawaan', 'Pathan', and 'Donkey'. However, his role as Don is something else in the hearts of his fans. But you will be surprised to know that initially Shah Rukh was not the first choice of the makers for this character.

Hrithik Roshan was the first choice for the role of 'Don'

When Farhan Akhtar thought of remaking the film 'Don', the first name that came to his mind was Hrithik Roshan. Farhan and Hrithik had previously worked together in the film 'Lakshya', and they had a good bonding. During a meeting, Farhan told Hrithik about this project and also expressed his desire to cast him for this character.

Hrithik happily accepted this offer. He told Farhan, "Okay friend, I am ready." After this Farhan started working on the story of the film.

While writing the story, the thought of Shahrukh came

Farhan told that when he started writing the story, the image of Shahrukh Khan kept coming in his mind for the character. Farhan said that he had worked with Shahrukh many times and his sense of humor, charm and style seemed perfect for this character. Farhan says, "The more I kept writing, the more I felt that there was no one better than Shahrukh for this role."

Hrithik supports Farhan

Farhan was a little confused about this decision. He hesitantly called Hrithik and told him that he wanted to approach Shah Rukh Khan for this role. Hrithik showed great understanding on this. He told Farhan, "Farhan, if you want to make the film, you should do what is best for the character. Don't think about me." This support from Hrithik encouraged Farhan to cast Shah Rukh in this role, and thus Shah Rukh Khan became the 'Don' of Bollywood.

Shahrukh's 'Don' did wonders

Shah Rukh Khan's role as Don became one of the most memorable roles of his career. His anti-hero style impressed the audience, and the film proved to be a huge hit. This role of Shah Rukh is now counted among the historic characters of Bollywood.
