The new film starring Cillian Murphy is now in cinemas with first reactions appearing online.
Steve, which stars the Peaky Blinders actor in the lead role, is currently showing on the big screen. However, it is expected to hit Netflix very soon.
Fans will be wondering exactly when that is. It is not the only title released this year that is following a similar release. House of Dynamite directed by Oscar winner Kathryn Bigelow and Ballad of a Small Play starring Colin Farrell, are also enjoying a short run in movie theatres before they arrive on the streaming giant's platform.

Set in the mid-’90s, Steve is a reimagining of Max Porter’s bestselling Shy. The film follows a pivotal day in the life of head teacher Steve, played by Cillian Murphy and his students at a last chance reform school.
As Steve fights to protect the school’s integrity and impending closure, we witness him grappling with his own mental health. In parallel to Steve’s struggles, we meet Shy (Jay Lycurgo), a troubled teen caught between his past and what lies ahead as he tries to reconcile his inner fragility with his impulse for self-destruction and violence.
When is Steve released on Netflix?Steve is available to go see now in cinemas for those who cannot wait. However, the good news is that there is not too long to wait before it is streaming.
The film will be released on Netflix from October 3. This is less than a couple weeks away. Like most new releases on the platform, it will be expected to be available from 8am on that day.
What have critics said about Steve? Many major outlets have already published their reviews for the film. However, a number of verdicts seem to be decidedly mixed.
There is plenty of praise for Cillian's performance although it is currently one of his lower rated outings, as it stands at 77% on Rotten Tomatoes.
As one reviewer suggests: "There’s a manic energy to every shaky-cam scene that, by the end, seems to be hiding something. Murphy, however, is mesmerising."

Another critic goes so far as to claim no other actor would be able to suit the role. They said: "Steve is a film that would not work at all with a lesser actor than Cillian Murphy at its centre. He grips your attention and demands empathy."
However, one person claims the themes and ideas explored in the film don't quite work as well as they could.
They penned: "Not to doubt the sincerity of anyone behind or in front of the camera on Steve, but it is clunky in execution. It either needs to stick to its title and focus on Steve or the youth; the film tries to do both, ending up cutting everyone short."
