Netflix finally released the second chapter of Wednesday season 2 today and fans have all been left saying the same thing about Tyler Galpin (Hunter Doohan).

While the character is often in conflict with Wednesday (Jenna Ortega), many viewers have been left “heartbroken” for him and think season 3 could be a turning point for the Hyde.

Tyler may have done some terrible things, but viewers feel sympathy for the character, who has ultimately spent his life under others’ control and suffered the loss of both his parents.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one person commented on the scene where Tyler visits Wednesday in the hospital, saying: “This scene burned my heart.. being manipulated, groomed and used.. and craving for love to set him free…”

Another wrote: “Anytime Tyler trusts an adult he gets hurt, i’m so tired please season 3 just give him a break, let him heal and find his forever home i’ll never beg for anything again.”

A third credited Doohan’s performance in the role, tweeting: “Hunter Doohan absolutely nails Tyler’s complexity in Wednesday. The charm, the torment, the duality – he slips between vulnerability and menace with such precision it’s unsettling. A masterclass in layered performance.”

Netflix fans also think there were a number of ‘clues’ Tyler and Wednesday may want to rekindle things next season.

While Wednesday is creating a concoction to ensnare Tyler in his Hyde form and become his master, her spirit guide Principal Weems warns that her ‘feelings’ for Tyler will cloud her judgement.

In the finale, Wednesday once again proves she cares about Tyler when she opts to free him from Isaac’s laboratory after he begs her to kill him.

Despite threatening to kill Wednesday throughout the season, Tyler also seems conflicted when his uncle Isaac tries to bury her alive.

Speaking about the pair’s final scene together, one person argued: “This just further proves how deeply connected Tyler and Wednesday are. We got confirmation that both Wednesday AND Tyler STILL have feelings for each other. She saved him, gave him mercy and he didn’t actually want her to die.”

A second wrote: “I can’t even tell you how I feel right now.. Witnessing Tyler’s inner battle, the betrayal and Wednesday’s realising that she’s attracted to him.. WE ARE SO BACK!!!”

Another added: “He already gave up but she never. Deep down Wednesday knew that there’s a hope for Tyler… For them…”

Fans think season 3 could also usher in a redemption arc for Tyler as the show’s ending hints at a new chapter for the character.

At the end of season 2, a distraught Tyler loses his mother for the second time, and later we see a sad shot of him standing in front of both of his parents’ graves.

It is at this point that mysterious Nevermore music teacher Isadora Capri reaches out to Tyler, offering him a ‘support group’ that will give him ‘a pack of his own’ instead of a new master.

“Tyler redemption arc imminent,” a fan wrote, as another fan mused: “So in season 3 it looks like they'll finally explore the feelings Wednesday has for Tyler and explain to us what the REAL reason is behind her freeing Tyler.”

While another viewer gushed: “My baby Tyler better get happiness in season 3 please he’s been through enough! PLEASE let him be with Wednesday please or just let Capri NOT BE EVIL. PLEASE. Let her be a positive mother/adult figure.”

Wednesday season 2 is available to stream on Netflix.
