There's nothing quite like a chocolate treat – whether you're peckish, in need of an energy lift, or seeking comfort after a long day. While classic bars from Cadbury's, Galaxy, Mars and Milky Way always hit the spot, sometimes a more luxurious option is called for. But would you go as far as splashing out on the world's priciest chocolate bar, even on World Chocolate Day?
One chocoholic took the plunge, shelling out a staggering $490 [£360] to sample the To'ak Master Series chocolate and determine if it truly lives up to its hefty price tag. Food reviewer Kyle Krueger showcased the extravagant treat on his TikTok page, sparking a series of reactions.

This premium chocolate is crafted from single-origin Ecuadorian dark chocolate and is renowned for its cask-aged editions, focus on specific harvest seasons, and exquisite packaging.
"We also pay farmers the highest cacao prices in the continent and are leading the movement in nursing an ancient cacao variety back from the brink of extinction," stated To'ak. The creators liken its production process to that of a vintage wine.
Unboxing the chocolate, Kyle noted that his bar was harvested back in 2015. He discovered a small tab inside the box labelled 'pull here', which revealed limited edition artwork when tugged.
The chocolate arrives in a beautifully carved wooden box complete with branding and product information. It also includes a bronze and wooden plate, along with utensils specifically designed for savouring the chocolate.
Much like in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the chocolate bar has its very own shiny golden wrapper. Kyle couldn't wait to peel back the layers as he carefully unfolded the gold paper to reveal another delicate sheet, finally presenting the treat on a wooden platter.
Kyle exclaimed: "I have to say the scent of wood and dark chocolate has completely filled this room."
He remarked how effortlessly a chunk of the chocolate snapped off. On tasting the luxurious confection, he confessed: "I don't think I've ever tasted anything like that before."
Reacting to his post, one follower enthused: "I must try that." Another eager fan commented: "I want a piece."
Someone else shared their yearning: "I so wish I could try this chocolate," But some were sceptical about the lavish presentation. One critic pointed out: "It's like 60% packaging and 40% chocolate."
An unimpressed observer quipped: "It probably tastes the same as a $2 [£1.47] chocolate."
