Samuel West has confessed it felt "very odd" filming alongside All Creatures Great and Smallguest star Gaia Wise having previously worked on movies with her famous mum Emma Thompson.
Actress Gaia - daughter of Emma and former Strictly Come Dancing participant Greg Wise - features in the newest episode of the Channel 5 period drama, which unfolds in Yorkshire and chronicles the life of vet James Herriot (Nicholas Ralph).
She portrays Charlotte, part of a new family in town, and Samuel revealed it transported him back to his collaborations with Emma. The duo appeared together in the 1990s films Howard's End and Carrington.

Speaking about working with Emma's daughter, Samuel described Gaia as "terrific", reports the Manchester Evening News.

"There was one scene where I was walking alongside her talking, and she looked so like her mum," he said.
"I did two films with Emma in the early 90s, so that was really weird. It was like suddenly being 30 to 35 years younger. And because Gaia's really terrific – her mannerisms, or something she did, or some look she gave the ground – just took me back."
"It was very odd indeed," the actor continued.
"She's terrific, and I hope we stick with her."

The newest instalment of the beloved series sees the entrance of the Beauvoirs, a prominent new family in the area.
'Captain Farnon' is called upon to attend to their charming daughter Charlotte's horse. In a comical mix-up, both Siegfried (played by Samuel) and Tristan (portrayed by Callum Woodhouse) end up arriving to assist the horse, leading to a humorous rivalry between the brothers.
Emma shares Gaia with her actor husband Greg, who has starred in popular shows like The Crown and Strange Angel.
Greg, who tied the knot with Emma in 2003, also took part in Strictly Come Dancing in 2021. He was partnered with professional dancer Karen Hauer for the BBC ballroom show, but the pair were knocked out in the fourth week of the competition.
Gaia has other acting credits to her name, including A Walk in the Woods and The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim.
All Creatures Great and Small airs at 9pm on Channel 5 on Thursday October 9
