Mumbai: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray on Monday urged party office bearers to set aside internal differences and begin preparations for the upcoming local body elections in the state.
Speaking after the party’s internal review meeting, senior MNS leader and close aide Bala Nandgaonkar said Thackeray offered detailed guidance on organisational restructuring and electoral groundwork.

“Raj Thackeray has clearly said there should be no disputes. All party workers—past and present—must be brought together for the elections,” said Nandgaonkar.
“He instructed us to reconnect with old office bearers, former candidates, and those currently inactive. No one should be excluded due to personal differences. Everyone who has stood by the party should feel valued,” he added.
Focus on Voter Lists for Upcoming BMC Polls
In the backdrop of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, Thackeray also laid emphasis on strengthening booth-level preparation. He reportedly asked the cadre to review and update voter lists in their respective constituencies meticulously.
“Special attention must be given to checking voter lists. It’s not just about rallies or events—we must be thorough on the ground,” Thackeray told party workers, according to Nandgaonkar.

When asked whether the topic of a potential alliance with Shiv Sena (UBT) was discussed, Nandgaonkar clarified that it did not come up in the meeting.
“There was no conversation around any alliance. Raj Thackeray will take that decision when the time comes. What he has told us for now is to respect one another within the organisation. Our behaviour will determine our strength going forward,” he stated.
