Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Pilgrims planning to undertake the holy Amarnath Yatra this year can now obtain their mandatory health certificate not only from JP Hospital but also from private medical colleges.

Six specialist doctors from Chirayu Medical College have been officially authorised to issue the certificate after a proper health check-up.

The Amarnath Shrine Board has announced the dates for the Amarnath Yatra 2025. This year, the Yatra will begin on 3rd July and conclude on 9th August.

In preparation for the journey, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has made it mandatory for all pilgrims to carry a medical fitness certificate due to the physically demanding route, high altitude, low oxygen levels, and unpredictable weather conditions.

In a recent move to make the process easier, the Directorate of Public Health and Medical Education has added Chirayu Medical College to the list of approved centers for issuing health certificates. This decision is expected to ease the burden on government hospitals and provide more options for pilgrims.

The following medicine specialists from Chirayu Medical College have been approved to conduct medical check-ups and issue certificates:

  • Dr. Shweta

  • Dr. Shakti Singh Rajput

  • Dr. Ryan Singh

  • Dr. Rajat

  • Dr. Ayush Malik

  • Dr. Virendra Kumar Dubey (CMO, MD General Medicine)

These doctors will assess a pilgrim’s fitness to undertake the Yatra, focusing on key health factors such as:

  • Ability to tolerate high altitude and low oxygen levels

  • Presence of any heart-related conditions

  • Chronic illnesses like asthma, high blood pressure, or COPD

Documents required for the medical certificate include:

  • Aadhaar card

  • Two passport-sized photographs

  • Previous medical reports

Officials have clearly stated that the name and registration number of the doctor must be mentioned on the certificate. Without this certificate, the Yatra travel permit will not be issued.
