Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh): A girl kidnapped at gunpoint 20 days ago in Buxwaha police station area remains missing, sparking outrage from her family and local community members. The incident occurred on April 8th near Mandi Gate, when two youths allegedly abducted the girl while she was returning home on a bike with her brother, Bhupat.
One of the accused, Pushpendra Lodhi, and his accomplice reportedly forced the girl off the vehicle at gunpoint and made Bhupat flee. Despite immediate reporting of the incident, no significant progress has been made by the police, the family claims.
Bablu Patel, the girl’s relative and a resident of Kishanpura, said the accused’s father is now demanding Rs 2 lakh from them. He also alleged that Buxwaha police have been threatening the family instead of taking action.
On Monday, the victim’s family, joined by members of the District Kushwaha Society, submitted a memorandum to the Superintendent of Police seeking justice. Ashish Patel, youth president of the society, criticised the police and warned of protests if the case is not resolved promptly.
CSP Aman Mishra confirmed that the kidnapping case is under investigation and assured that efforts are ongoing to trace the girl. He acknowledged receiving the society's memorandum and reiterated the police’s commitment to solving the case.
