Jayam Ravi’s life has been in turmoil recently. The Tamil star who announced his separation from his wife Aarti, has braved a lot of public scrutiny over his divorce, his feud with his estranged wife over properties and social media handles. In a candid interview with Galatta Plus, the ‘ Ponniyin Selvan’ star opened up on coping with how his life was dissected by the public without mercy.

The actor explained that he had come to terms with the fact that being a public figure, his life will always be subjected to speculations and he had made his peace with it.

"We are in a public medium. Anything I do gets elevated, even if it's just me drinking tea. It is a mass medium; we are mass stars. So, be it good sense or bad sense, everything is highlighted, and we cannot avoid that. People like cinema, people like actors...talking about actors. So, I don't judge them for it. Let it be….” he said.

The ‘Siren’ star said that he has stopped caring about people talking about him. “I need my body and mind to be clear for the sake of my work. I can't teach people individual responsibility. Some mature people don't do that (spread rumours). Other people don't care about the intensity of the matter and breach my privacy. When I know about myself, why bother about what others say?" he told the channel.

Earlier, Ravi hinted that his 15-year-old marriage to Aarti was less than happy. He claimed that his wife and her family denied him financial autonomy and maintained close scrutiny over his expenditures. He also revealed that the servants at the house were treated better than him and he was always subjected to disrespect.

On the work front, the actor has a father spectacular line-up that includes 'Brother', 'Genie', 'Kadhalikka Neramillai', and 'JR 34', and he was initially part of Kamal Haasan's 'Thug Life'.
