BTS member SUGA has once again won hearts, not with a new album, but through a heartfelt act of giving. The rapper-producer, whose real name is Min Yoongi, has reportedly invested 5 billion KRW (approximately Rs 31 crore) to establish the Min Yoongi Treatment Center in Seoul. This newly launched facility is dedicated to providing support and care for children and young adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Today (September 30) is the opening ceremony of the center.

The treatment center has been built in collaboration with the Severance Hospital, one of South Korea’s leading medical institutions. Interestingly, this is the same hospital where SUGA was previously treated for appendicitis. During that hospital stay, he famously composed BTS’s track Just One Day, which has since become a fan favourite. Years later, the same hospital's Pediatric Psychiatry Department partnered with him to bring this ambitious and meaningful project to life.
On this special day, fans around the world took to social media to express their admiration and pride. On X (formerly Twitter), messages poured in under hashtags like #OurAngelMinYoongi and #ProudOfYoongi. One fan wrote that it was an “emotional day” and shared how meaningful it was to see one of Yoongi’s long-held dreams come true. Others described him as “an angel” and “a source of inspiration,” with many praising his compassion and commitment to causes that matter deeply.

The center features the MIND Program, an acronym for Music, Interaction, Network, and Diversity. Designed to support the social and emotional development of individuals on the autism spectrum, this program integrates music therapy and interactive group sessions. Music, a key element of SUGA’s identity, plays a central role in the therapy model, helping patients express themselves and connect with others in creative ways.
What makes this project even more touching is that SUGA’s inspiration came from personal experience. Over the years, he made private visits to children with autism, often going incognito and introducing himself simply as “Prof. Min.” The children didn’t know he was a global superstar, they just saw a kind man who brought a guitar and made music with them. These moments stayed with him and led to the vision of creating a dedicated space where children could heal, learn, and grow.
The center’s entrance is engraved with the words: “Min Yoongi Treatment Center. Center for the MIND Program. Since 2025.” The decision to use his real, romanised name, rather than his stage name SUGA. Having recently completed his mandatory military service, SUGA is slowly returning to the public eye. He’s shared behind-the-scenes photos on social media, including shots of himself holding a guitar, a possible hint at new music or artistic projects on the horizon.
It's a huge day for Min Yoongi aka Suga!
