E-Aadhaar App: UIDAI has recently launched a new e-Aadhaar app which will make Aadhaar verification easier, faster and safer than ever. Let's know the special features of this new system:
What is the new e-Aadhaar app? (What Is E-Aadhaar App)
This is a mobile app developed by UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India).
The app aims to make Aadhaar card related services digital and seamless.
How will Aadhaar verification be done through QR code? (QR Code Aadhaar Verification)
The app has a QR code based verification system.
Now there will be no need for hard or soft copy of Aadhaar card for identity verification.
User can share his identity by scanning QR code - like hotel check-in, application in government services, or property deals.
Online Aadhaar Update from home
User can now update information like name, address, date of birth, mobile number from home through the app.
Only for biometric update (fingerprint and iris scan) one will have to go to the enrollment center.
E-Aadhaar App: Privacy and Security
The app will not share any data without the explicit consent of the user.
QR code based sharing will reduce the possibility of fake documents and identity fraud.
E-Aadhaar App: Special facility for children
UIDAI has planned to set up special camps in CBSE schools so that biometric updates of children can be done easily.
