Coronation Street's Vicky Myers has opened up about the sentimental item that became a cornerstone for her portrayal of DS Lisa Swain on the hit show.

She explained: "This ring is my great-grandma's ring and I couldn't get it off for filming because it's really small, so I thought, 'she's a single parent [DS Lisa Swain], so she's either divorced or I didn't think about being widowed, but she's divorced'.
"So I left it on and thought, 'that's hers'. So that ended up being part of my character's DNA."
Vicky also shared a touching moment when she realised she was truly part of the legendary series. She said: "I actually walked down the cobbles.
"There was nobody about, it was really eerily silent and there was The Rovers Return and I'd never seen that in real life.
"And I looked at it and I had this wonderful feeling of, 'I'm going to be here for a while'."
Since her arrival on the street in 2021, viewers have watched DS Swain dive into some of Weatherfield's most gripping cases, notably aiding in the conviction of Corey Brent for Seb Franklin's murder.
And just last week, viewers saw Tracy Barlow (played by Kate Ford) and Carla Connor (Alison King) held hostage by Rob Donovan (Marc Baylis).
As tensions escalated with Rob wielding a gun, Tracy managed to slip away and alert Lisa, who arrives to try and defuse the situation.
However, a struggle over the firearm ensues, and the sound of gunshots leaves Corrie fans on tenterhooks, wondering who was caught in the crossfire.
