Coronation Street drops crucial clue DS Swain killed Joel Deering in grim discovery

Lisa Swain is one of the latest suspects to be considered for the murder of Joel Deering and one piece of evidence could seal her downfall.

While her blossoming connection with Carla Connor () has left fans rooting for the potential couple, the detective played by is to have committed the sinister deed on September 27, 2024.

Though she tried for several months to bring the duty solicitor to justice, her daughter Betsy's () connection to Joel made things particularly difficult and in scenes due to air on , she is confronted by none other than Kit Green (), who reveals incriminating evidence linking her to Joel's death has been found on her personal mobile phone.

Lisa has recently vowed to take some time off from her job to spend more time with Betsy but when she is summoned to the Weatherfield police station, she is shocked to find out Kit doesn't intend to have a "friendly chat" with her as he makes it clear: "I need to ask you a few questions on record."

Kit then reveals that Lisa's mobile phone has been analysed and the search has highlighted a text message, composed but never sent, which was intended for Joel Deering. The message read: "stay away from my daughter or I will be the end of you", making it clear that Lisa may have wanted to kill Joel. But will she be confirmed as the killer, particularly after Kit was revealed to be up to no good?
