Nagpur: A day after a respite, the maximum temperature rose to 42 degrees Celsius in Nagpur. However, gusty winds and thunderstorms at isolated places in Nagpur mitigated the overall heat impact on Thursday. At some locations, wind speeds reached up to 50 kmph.
The storm appeared mild compared to Wednesday when the winds were widespread. Rainfall was also scattered across the district.
The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) has forecast gusty winds, thunderstorms, and lightning for Friday and Saturday in Nagpur and other districts of Vidarbha.
A western disturbance as a trough from west Rajasthan to northwest Vidarbha has been causing the weather pattern in the region. The trough has now shifted towards Marathwada.
However, an upper air cyclonic circulation over northwest Madhya Pradesh and the neighbourhood persists, which may cause thunderstorms over Vidarbha, according to the forecast.
